Exciting news today is that Joffe Books, a leading independent publisher based in the UK has acquired the rights to The Gull Bay Mysteries, a series of eight cozy mysteries based in the fictional village of Gull Bay in the Channel Islands.
I began this series in the midst of the Covid pandemic, when after writing and publishing a number of non-fiction books and short stories I decided that it was ‘now or never’ as far as writing the fiction book I’d always promised myself that I would write. Four and a half years later, and after self publishing seven cozy mysteries in the series, I decided to try and find a publisher. I was thrilled when Rachel Slatter, the Editorial Director at Joffe Books loved the first two books she had read in the series, and agreed to acquire the rights to the seven already self-published books, and an eighth which I had started to write.
The books will start to be republished with brand new titles and glossy new covers from early next year. Watch this space. For now, it’s too early for champagne so its a chai latte in one of my favourite coffee shops in Westbourne where I now live.
